Taylor D. Ward, Managing Member

Thank you for visiting our Webpage. It is an honor for me to be associated with the Foundation for Winter Park Tech. The Foundation is a non-profit entity to raise and provide funds to worthy students at Winter Park Tech to ensure that they could complete their studies there. The Foundation also promotes Winter Park Tech in the community by letting potential employers know about tremendous pool of talent available to them among the graduates of Winter Park Tech.

Since its formation in 2004, the Foundation has been able to meet the financial needs of over 60 worthy students who could not afford some part of the costs to complete his or her course classes and graduates. The Foundation has granted full scholarships, but more often will pay for just a portion of cost for such items as, required course books, GED examination or other testing fees, lab fees, partial tuition payments and even purchase nurses shoes for a student so he/she could complete training as an intern. We carefully screen each candidate to ensure that they don’t have another source of funds (such as a Pell grant), that they are hardworking a passionate about their chosen career field.

Often, without funding from the Foundation, these students would not be able to complete their courses. The funding provided by the Foundation is often the difference which allows a student to complete their course studies at Winter Park Tech and pursue opportunities for success in their professional and personal lives.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Foundation to help our students and our community.

Foundation of Winter Park Tech, Inc. (the Foundation) Scholarship Award Guidelines

1. The applicant must be enrolled as a student at Winter Park Tech.

2. Funds are awarded to an individual who has established himself/herself at Winter Park Tech and has a proven record of success.

3. After submission of an application, funds will be made available to worthy candidates who have received an endorsement from his/her instructor and the approval of the Foundation’s Board of directors.

4. Funds are limited. For needs that are large, the applicant should look to other sources of funds and combine all available sources to meet his/her financial needs.

5. The Foundation provides limited scholarships and this should be a scholarship of last resort. In most instances the Foundation will only be able to fund a portion of the costs, such as for testing, books and/or tuition.

If you meet the above criteria, please complete and submit the Financial Assistance Application form.  Application forms are also available at Winter Park Tech’s Admission Offices.

1. The Foundation’s Education Committee Chair will screen all applications, ensure that other available funding sources have been explored, and confer with instructors concerning the applicant’s attendance, workplace traits, and scholastic record.

This information will then be provided to the Board of Directors as it considers the request for a scholarship award.

2. Upon the award of a Foundation scholarship, the applicant will be asked to sign a commitment to complete the program’s requirements, to stay connected to the Foundation and to provide updates on the impact the funds have had on him/her.

3. Applications take a few weeks to process.
