Born in the hills of southeastern Kentucky, Dennis Jones has spent most of his life in Florida. Graduating from Boca Raton High School, Broward Community College and the University of South Florida, he pursued a career as an educator, serving as a teacher, coach, and Florida Department of Education state youth organization director. In 1983 he left education and began a successful 25 year career in the hospitality industry. His career began as a sales representative for the Sheraton Sand Key Resort and lead to Corporate Director of Sales for a privately owned company. As the Corporate Director of Sales, Mr. Jones worked with staff in eight hotels including the Orlando Marriott Downtown and the Hilton Suites in downtown Nashville. In 2003, he retired from the hotel industry and became a residential property appraiser for Mid Florida Appraisal Solutions, an appraisal company owned by his youngest daughter, Melinda.

Married to Betty Jones, wife of 26 years, Dennis enjoys his seven grand kids who range in age from 1 to 8 and his “little girl” Belle, a 5-year old Maltese mix.  An avid golfer, Dennis enjoys playing every day and loves to travel and fish.
